Baker to Oxbow Dam, Oregon-Idaho border: 71 miles
Not much happened today. It was nice, warm, and sunny. Soon after leaving Baker, we had a five-mile hill, from the top of which we had a good view of the valley - much the same view that the pioneers had when they came over the same hill, headed west on the Oregon Trail.

We're staying tonight at the Oxbow Dam campground with Guy Baltzelle, a rider from Seattle that we met at Ochoco Lake several days ago. He's on his way to graduate school in Manhattan, Kansas.

Roughing it, we opened a can of chicken chow mein for supper. To date, we've done 615 miles, all of it in Oregon. Tomorrow, we follow the Snake River for 15 or 20 miles, then cross over to Idaho.

OMG Bret, this is so cool! I've never seen this picture of me before! My panniers look so new and my Hush Puppies look so old! LOL.
